Health is the biggest wealth one can treasure. Just as your jewels and other valuable assets require regular maintenance and polishing, health too demands regular care and maintenance. It is a state of balance. What one fails to understand is, that dietary requirements of a human body vary across gender, ages, work profile, body structure & daily activity levels. People who want to maintain a perfect work-life balance must analyze the following aspects prior to planning a dietary regime.

The level of activity:
One of the most crucial things to focus on when deciding on a diet plan is the level of activity one indulges in. In case you work out at gym, walk a lot or indulge in a lot of physical and strenuous activities, then your level of activity is higher. This also indicates that you require including more amounts of carbohydrates in your diet. However, make sure that you include more of complex carbs in your diet. These are of the high-fiber variety. Munching on sugar, flour, sweets & cornstarch is an indication that one is consuming an unbalanced diet.

Low level of activity:
People with low level of activity such as those with jobs that require sitting in the office all day long must focus less on instant energy providing foods such as corn, pasta rice etc.
They need to focus on glycemic index foods such as lobhia, sprouts, channa, mungdal

etc. These are known to release less sugar in to the system.

What to do?
Here is how to plan your diet in a way to maintain a healthy balance of nutrients & essential carbs in the body.

Breakfast
Skipping breakfast is a very bad idea. Focus on eating a breakfast that consists of a lot of vitamins. Including mixed vegetable juke, fruits & high fiber cereal such as muesli, oats or daliya will be a great idea. Skipping breakfast can lead to a lot of deficiency in the body.

Hydration
This is one thing that people fail to focus on. It is very crucial to keep one self hydrated as it helps in expelling metabolic wastes from the body. You can hydrate your body in different ways such as via drinking coconut water & herbal teas.
Drinking less water can lead to sluggishness & also increases acid levels in the body

Right food choices
Your daily diet plan must include some salad, a fruit lentil, dairy, natural oil & whole grains. Make sure your do not consume too much oil.

Healthy snacks
You need to include healthy options in to your diet plan such as boiled potato salad, idli, khandvi, dhokla, roasted, baked snaks, yogurt, apples, pears, bananas etc.

Nuts & oil seeds
These are very important for your skin and bone health. Try including almonds, walnuts, flaxseed, pistachios etc in to your diet.

Color
Adding some colors in to your diet regime can help you in maintaining your health in a perfect state. Green leafy vegetables, red apples, tomatoes, yellow peppers, pumpkin, white garlic/ onion, purple brinjals & orange papaya are important for your diet.

Taking out a little time and planning a healthy diet regime will keep you in the pink of your health.
